April 18, 1944 - Letter from Cape Gloucester

Dear Mother & All,
I will try to write a few lines but there is really nothing to write about. I am still feeling fine & hope this finds you the same.

Didn't have any mail today but had several a couple of days ago so don't mind missing a day.  All that good candy & also everything in the other package is now good [I think he meant "gone" - LW] but it certainly was good while it lasted.  We now have a P.X in the camp which joins ours, which is open to us also, so we can now get some candy & peanuts & practically anything <unreadable>.

- All my love,
Son
